Kamerunga Suburb Profile
Kamerunga is located on the western edge of Cairns nestled between Redlynch and Caravonica and is approximately 15-minutes drive north of the CBD. Kamerunga is one of the smallest suburbs in Cairns and is made up of a mixture of residential and farmland. There are also a number of swimming holes in the area, with the most popular of them all being Stoney Creek. Stoney Creek is a small creek that runs through Kamerunga and flows into the Barron River. You can also find the Douglas Track at Stoney Creek, one of the most popular bush walks in Cairns which leads to Glacier Rock and continues up to Kuranda. The postcode for Kamerunga is 4870.

Although there are no shopping centres located directly within the suburb of Kamerunga due to its smaller size, its prime position means that the surrounding suburbs provide everything required. Being situated between Caravonica and Redlynch means that the closest convenience stores are within a 5-minute drive north to Caravonica; and the closest shopping centre just a 10-minute drive south to Redlynch Central Shopping Centre which provides both major super markets, Coles and Woolworths, as well as a Brumby's Bakery, Domino's Pizza store, Terry White Chemist and many other stores.

The only school in the boundaries of Kamerunga is Peace Lutheran College providing private schooling for years Prep through to year 12.
