Aeroglen Suburb Profile
Aeroglen is a centrally located suburb within the Cairns Region situated between both Stratford and Cairns North. Aeroglen is located on a slope at the foot of the Mount Whitfield Conservation Park. Most of the suburb is taken up by the Cairns International Airport and the name Aeroglen is a reference to the airport. The postcode of Aeroglen is 4870.

Being the home ground for the Cairns Pirates Touch Football Association, Aeroglen is best known for the large district level sports fields located along the main access road Stratford Connection Road. The touch fields are also home to the Aeroglen Community Hall as well as access to the Lumley hill hiking tracks, including popular Blue & Red Arrow Walks, within the Mount Whitfield Regional Park.

Aeroglen's central location means that is very close to many facilities in the area with just 5-minute drive to the nearest string of convenience stores including a butcher, newsagent, deli and cafè along with a number of takeaway restaurants and a local pub. It is also just 15-minute drive to either Redlynch Shopping Centre, where you can find a Coles, Woolworths, Brumby’s Bakery and many other stores, or Cairns Central Shopping Centre in the heart of the CBD which offers many larger department stores such as Myer, Kmart and Target.

Although there are no schools located in the suburb of Aeroglen a range of primary and secondary schools can be found in the surrounding suburbs, with Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Primary and Freshwater Primary School within 10-minute drive as well as St Andrew's Catholic College (Prep-12) just 15 minutes away. The Sunbus public transport service connects Aeroglen to both the Northern beaches and CBD with multiple stops throughout the suburb.
