Cairns northern beaches located between
Machans Beach and
Yorkeys Knob and is a 15-minute drive from the
Cairns CBD. Holloways Beach is made up of residential, large farm land, reserves and undeveloped land throughout the suburb as well as some commercial areas providing services to residents of the neighbourhood. There is also

Cairns Central Shopping Centre, about a 15-minute drive south, which provides major outlets including Myer, Target, Coles major Telco's and Kmart. There is also a butcher, deli and a news-agency in Stratford which is about a 10-minute drive south.
Although there are no schools located directly within Holloways Beach, adjoining suburbs of
Machans Beach and
Yorkeys Knob both provide public primary schooling from years prep-6. The closest secondary school is
Smithfield State High School about 5-kilometres north providing years 7-12 public schooling. There is also Holloways Beach
Community Kindergarten & Preschool offering kindergarten and prep level services. The
Cairns Sunbus public transport service also runs throughout the area with multiple stop overs in the suburb.
