Clifton Beach
Clifton Beach is one of the northern-most beaches within Cairns adjoining to Kewarra Beach on the southern side and Palm Cove on the northern end. Clifton Beach is a mainly residential area with a mix of both residential and holiday leasing which attracts both visitors and permanent residents to the area. With a large number of neighbourhood parks, beach facilities, including a stinger net enclosure, tennis club and community hall Clifton Beach is extremely family-friendly and activity-orientated. Although Clifton Beach is located approximately 30-minute drive north from the Cairns CBD it still has access to many essential facilities due to the addition of the Clifton Beach Shopping Centre. Clifton Beach Shopping Centre has both major outlets such as Coles & Target Country as well as smaller stores including a medical & surgery clinic, Northern Beaches Dental Care, physiotherapist, Kaboo Haircutters and a number of homewares stores. There are also a number of convenience stores as well as petrol stations throughout the suburb.

Although Clifton Beach does not have a school within the suburb there are many schools in surrounding suburbs providing all year levels with both public and private. Trinity Anglican School has a primary campus for years Kindergarten to year 6 located in Kewarra Beach providing private schooling. There is also Trinity Beach State School and Smithfield State High School providing a public schooling alternative for years prep through to year 7 and year 7 through to year 12 respectively. The Cairns Sunbus public transport service also runs throughout the area with multiple stop overs in the suburb.
